The McGrail Vineyards and Winery, founded by Jim and Ginger McGrail, was planted in 1999 with the intent of producing the finest Cabernet grapes in the Livermore Valley as well as rival Cabernet grapes from the Napa Valley. 

In April 2008, the McGrail's opened their tasting room and winery. They are currently only pouring Cabernets all grown on the estate.
