Vineyard Notes

The 2012 Growing Season was exceptional with moderate temperatures, a long growing season, and a warm fall.  This is one of the best growing seasons we have seen in the past 3 years and has led to wines with great color, structure, and balanced flavors.  We picked this block of fruit from McGrail Vineyards on October 10th starting at 2am.

Winemaking Style:

Our winemaker and the McGrail Family taste through all of our French oak barrels and pick our four favorite barrels for the James Vincent Cabernet Sauvignon.

Small Lot:

Specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon from our Estate Vineyard, we take great pride in crafting our most prestigious Cabernet, the James Vincent.

The Wine:

The 2012 James Vincent was bottled on May 13, 2015, and then bottle aged for 6 months before being released.  One of our best debuts yet!  The dark garnet color is entrancing; the aromas pop with bright cassis, dark cherry, baking spice and hints of vanilla.  On the palate, this wine offers an intricate blend of nutmeg, clove, and porcini mushrooms.  The tannins are elegant and smooth, and linger with a hint of dark chocolate.
